Lynda Currie BSc BA (Hons) DipHE MBACP
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website.
My name is Lynda Currie and I run Clocks Counselling, a private counselling and psychotherapy practice based within West Street Counselling Centre in Fareham, Hampshire, within easy reach of Gosport, Portsmouth and Southampton.
I know that the idea of coming to therapy can feel daunting, therefore I aim to offer you a welcoming, safe space which provides “time for you”, working together to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you can share and explore what has brought you to counselling. I will strive to accept and understand how you feel, from your perspective, with empathy and kindness but without judgement or criticism, working together to find the solutions that are right for you.
How can I help?
I work with adults on a one-to-one basis, offering short or long term counselling, with regular weekly or fortnightly sessions available.
I offer general ‘talking therapy’, covering a broad range of issues. Some of the issues I have supported people with include:
For those who may struggle with communicating in words I am also able to counsel those who prefer to communicate ‘creatively’, facilitating expression through the use of art materials, such as drawing, or using stones or shells. If this method of expression is something you are interested in I can explain more at our introductory session.
I am a private practice counsellor and psychotherapist and I have been counselling, training and developing my practice for almost a decade. I have a First Class Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling. I hold individual professional indemnity insurance and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, adhering to their Ethical Framework (2018). I am also registered with the Hampshire Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (HACP) directory.
As well as being a counsellor in Fareham, I also have experience in the further education sector and within a drug and alcohol recovery centre. I attend relevant training courses to increase my knowledge and develop myself as a counsellor and psychotherapist. To ensure I can offer you an up to date, professional and ethical service, I attend regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development courses.
Please see my Fees and FAQs page for further information, or get in touch via email or phone if you have any other questions or wish to book an appointment.
My practice is within easy reach of Fareham (PO16), Lee-on-the-Solent, Gosport, Wickham, Locksheath, Warsash, Portsmouth and Southampton and has excellent transport links to most of Hampshire and beyond.
